Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Extraordinary projects from one of the worldoCOes best architecture firms

The work of James Cutler, FAIA, and Bruce Anderson, AIA, of Cutler Anderson Architects is internationally renowned for its environmental awareness and meticulous attention to detail. Each project begins with an investigation of place and materials and culminates in a finely crafted building that fits seamlessly into the landscape. This is an entirely modern architecture, which, through multilayered transitions between inside and out and an ecologically conscious choice of materials, orchestrates a heightened connection between people and nature.

The Best of Cutler Anderson Architects presents the firm's outstanding designs from two previous Rockport volumes, James Cutler (from the Contemporary World Architects series) and Cutler Anderson Architects, as well as new and equally compelling projects from around the world that expand the firm's vocabulary. Also included in this book are examples of Cutler Anderson Architects' progression into the design of furniture and hardware, which complement and complete their superior design work.

Cutler Anderson Architects has received six National Honor Awards from the American Institute of Architects and over forty other national and regional awards. The firm's work has been published in books and magazines around the globe.

Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars One of the best!   June 11, 2008

I have purchased multiple books on single architects and even more compilations of modern design. This is by far one of the best I have read. The pictures show a good representation of the homes, and the commentary is just enough.

The only complaint is the floor plans. On several of the homes they give clear floor plans and on others there isn't one shown at all. I feel that to really understand the design of a home you need to be able to see how each area interacts with the others. Each floor plan should have a key with it.
