3 out of 5 stars Precious is back   November 13, 2008
Precious and Supreme are living the good life with their daughter Aaliyah in California. Supreme's record company is doing great things, especially with the promotion of his newest protege. Precious is glad her life of crime is behind her and she is living a quieter existence. Things are going good until she receives a phone call that any mother would dread - her baby girl has been kidnapped by a sinister enemy from her past. Precious must hit the streets to find the kidnapper and get her daughter back, all while trying to stay two steps ahead of the law and the culprits.

In THE BITCH IS BACK, Precious has lost her spunk. I felt I was reading about a totally different character. She came across as weak, uncaring and not up on her game. She seemed emotionally detached from her daughter as she chased after situations that were unrelated to the kidnapping and was also at her best friend's beck and call instead of being the independent woman we were first introduced to. The book does not fare well as a stand-alone and the ending sets up for an additional installment. Maybe I'll see the old ruthless Precious who takes no prisoners.

4 out of 5 stars She did it once agan!!!   October 30, 2008
The bitch is back was okay, so I gave it a four star.I have to say even if I don't like Precious and Supreme together I still had to read to see what happen with Perecious. I was happy to See that Deja brought back Nico I really did love him and Percious together. I also know who is the real father, but I can't wait for the 4th book to come out I just know Nico is going to be the one that find Percious.

5 out of 5 stars The Bitch never left   October 29, 2008
Deja did the dayum thang again! Precious is just one of those characters that you want to know, whether you love her or want to shoot her. Kudos Deja!

[...]

Part three in the Bitch series finds Precious Cummings and her husband, Supreme Mills relishing their lives with their daughter Aaliyah, in Los Angeles. But their serenity is quickly shattered when Pretty Boy Mike escapes from prison. Unsatisfied with his prior attempt at killing Supreme or his rape of Precious, Mike is back to wreak more havoc, especially since Mike feels that Aaliyah is his daughter. With no one aware of his escape, Mike is able to gain one up on his intended targets and sets off a diabolical chain of events.

Mike's treachery snaps Precious out of her reprieve and as the title implies the bitch is back! Unwilling to allow the police to do their job or even allow Supreme to protect them Precious jumps back into bitch mode to protect her family. Willing to do whatever it takes Precious' tactics and stubbornness places an undue strain on her marriage. Undaunted Precious continues until she can flush out Mike and the person or persons in her or her husband's camps who she feels are assisting him.

Author Deja King effectively keeps the Bitch series going with new mayhem and murder. Fans of the first two installments will definitely enjoy part three. Usually followers can tire of a series by the third time around but Ms. King manages to keep it interesting by utilizing intriguing story lines and character consistency.

What did you like about the book?
The author stayed true to the characters, especially with the main character Precious. Character consistency is very rare in sequels making fans leery of reading them due to uncharacteristic behaviors.

What did you dislike about the book?
The cliffhanger! Fans looking for closure will be shocked to see that there is yet another installment in the wings.

What can the author do to improve the book?
I really felt that the series should have ended with part three. Although the next installment's set up is intriguing, book three should have provided Precious, as well as fans of the series, closure.

5 out of 5 stars Dizayum!!   October 21, 2008
The Bitch is definitely Back! Precious Cummings has came from nothing to having it all with her high profile husband Supreme.

She is living this beautiful life basking in her bliss with her family, Supreme and baby Aaliyah, when her worst nightmare pops out of the hole she put him in. When Pretty Boy Mike decides to get back at her for landing him in jail, he touches the closest thing to home, baby Aaliyah.

Scrambling to figure out how he managed to escape prison, who helped him, and where baby Aaliyah is, door after door keep slamming in her face. Leads end up dead, she trails her prey only to find more dead ends, and worst of all finding out her best friend Maya was the one the whole time helping her brother Pretty Boy Mike out with his plan.

I guess it is true what they say, blood is definitely thicker than water, and it's proven here in The Bitch is Back. Read this book because you will definitely be sitting on the edge of your seat like I am wondering what is next in Queen Bitch.
