Successful experience using this textbook with three groups of international business English professionals. It seemed to cover the basic business language needed for intermediate learners -- introductions, socializing, networking, traveling on business, etc. The audio CD is necessary for the listening exercises. The exercises and role plays were great for practicing the language. I saw significant improvement in listening and speaking skills.

I hate to be negative, but this book was truly a waste of money. The activities are not useful to actual business executives learning English- entire units on "calling and making a hotel reservation", "talking to people at a trade show", etc. They have even laid out the book where you can't even use it without the classroom CD for the majority of the exercises. I didn't know this when I purchased the book, and the CD, of course, costs more than the book! I have never encountered a good Business ESL text. I think I need to produce one myself!

Not only an excellent text for concepts of "global communication" but also a testament to Thomas L. Friedman's thesis in his "The World is Flat: A Brief History of The Twenty-First Century. James C. Fonduex
