Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Just when Alex thought his life was calming down into a routine of patients and therapy sessions, he finds himself back in the game--this time to catch a criminal mastermind like no other. A spate of elaborate murders in Washington D.C. have the whole East Coast on edge. They are like nothing Alex Cross and his new girlfriend, Detective Brianna Stone, have ever seen. With each murder, the case becomes increasingly complex. There's only one thing Alex knows: the killer adores an audience. As victims are made into gruesome spectacles citywide, inducing a media hysteria, it becomes clear to Alex that the man he's after is a genius of terror--and he's after fame. The killer has the whole city by its strings--and he'll stop at nothing to become the most terrifying star that Washington D.C. has ever seen.

5 out of 5 stars enjoy   April 29, 2008
I always enjoy Patterson mysteries-this is no exception.
get a tall cool drink, relax, and read.

5 out of 5 stars He's Done It Again!   April 15, 2008
This most recent addition to the Alex Cross series, Double Cross, was well worth waiting for. It had all the twists and turns that we have come to expect from James Patterson and a few surprises. It is fun watching Alex balance his personal life with that of his professional life so that you get to see both sides of the man. That makes him more believable and you root for him all the more.

3 out of 5 stars Is James Patterson losing his edge?   April 12, 2008
I have long since been a fan of James Patterson and i have read almost all of his novels, i even collect them. But i can't help but notice that his books are becoming more and more superficial. I don't know if it's because he is putting them out too fast that he doesn't spend time with in depth research. Double Cross was entertaining but just that. I only bought it cos i am a james patterson fan and keep hoping that he would redeem himself with subsequent books. I will keep waiting.

1 out of 5 stars Terrible Terrible Terrible!!!   April 7, 2008

The quality of Patterson's work has dropped dramatically over the last couple of years, and with this one I think he's jumped the shark.
I could not believe this was the work of a professional author. It seems more like the first effort of a junior high student.
The plot is trite, the characters cartoonish and the prose is amateurish.
I am sorry to say that this is the first time I had to put down a book in disgust, unfinished.
Frankly, I don't care how this book ends- I've already lost an hour of my life that I will never get back while reading the first 100-odd pages.

4 out of 5 stars James Patterson   April 5, 2008
I am a fan of James Patterson. I read all his books. I love the way he writes, which means I can't put the book now until it is done. He always keeps you guessing.
