Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars Return to Sanity   October 22, 2008
Luminous takes the reader out of the dark and into the bright Arizona sunshine. Leaving behind a devastating grief, author Timothy Mulder recounts his experiences of life in the magestic red rocks of Sedona.

The pace of the story remains frenetic and the new additions to the cast of characters are enthralling.

Over all, Luminous feels like a pit-stop for the main character. I chance to catch his breath and rejuvenate his wearied soul.

Lacking the sensationalism of the previous chapters, Luminous still delivers with intense insights and at least one profound examination of Christian beliefs.

There is no such thing as hell? Who knew?

An excellent read as well as a much needed moment of lightness, especially since it sounds like the adventure goes down hill from here.
We're geting close to the end and the journey has not disappointed.

5 out of 5 stars Into the Light   October 19, 2008
Turning away from the darkness and drama that was a hallmark of his late twenties and early thirties, author Timothy Mulder takes the reader on an all new exploration of hope. Seemingly gone, are the days of drug induced hallucinatory revelation, replaced with the more mundane, but no less fantastic, discovery of a tribe where he belongs. The humer is still rollicking, the observations wry and the path convoluted. Mulder is still storytelling with a passion.

Nothing scares me more than dark, bleak moments of self derision, moments of self introspection, moments of self flagellation. "Luminous" takes such a moment and turns it into a promising break of peace and sets you on a course for a better future. Timothy Mulder writes from the heart and tears you apart with his insights, always there with a hope that something better will come.

I thoroughly enjoyed Luminous.

5 out of 5 stars Stepping into the Light   August 18, 2008
Along the road of this journey, author Timothy Mulder has taken us through so many twists and turns, I was starting to get a little sea-sick. Finally we come to a port in the storm. Leaving behind the insane pace of the Hollywood lifestyle, we the reader are treated to a physical, mental and spiritual sabatical as Mulder redefines his entire life. Taking his (40 days) in the desert leads to a renewed sense of purpose and optimism.

Luminous is both a breath of fresh air as well as a promise of a brighter future for our hero. True to form however, the reader is left dangling over the precipice of an uncertain fate as this latest installment wraps up.

With only six chapter left, we're closing in on the end and I'm afraid things are going to get much darker before the dawn.

Another powerful read.

5 out of 5 stars Where the Path Leads   August 9, 2008

This chapter describes the author's feelings of his spirituality, the goings on in his homelife, the need for a change and the possibilities that open up to him during his quest for spiritual self-fulfillment. We travel from Southern California all the way to Arizona, where the scenery is amazing. He has a new plan, some new experiences, new friends and a new outlook on his spiritual future. I found myself particularly interested in the animal encounter and am curious to find out more about that topic on my own.

I enjoyed this chapter of 'Moments and Milestones" as I have the other installments and find myself sitting on a boulder at the edge of the cliff overlooking downtown, shading my eyes from the setting sun and wondering where we're going next.
