Product Description The United States of America has more people behind bars than any other country in the world and every year nearly 700,000 prisoners get released back into society, the largest percentage of them being Black males. Getting Out & Staying Out is a short, easy to read set of guidelines intended to help incarcerated and newly freed African-American men (a) learn how to most productively do their time while in prison (b) know what to expect once they are released (c) understand that entrepreneuralship and self-employment is what their long-term focus should be on instead of a job, and (d) understand the importance of stable relationships and how they aid in successful re-entry. If followed, the advice and suggestions given in this very simple guide should prove very helpful for Black men who are serious about getting out of prison and not ever going back.

Excellent info and inspiration for black men who are incarcerated! August 8, 2008 This is a good book! My husband was in prison for 7 years and was so confused about what he should do and how he should see things out here after being gone for so long. I bought him this book and he read it in one night. The next morning he told me that he had a new outlook on numerous things just from him reading this book! I thumbed through it myself after he told me that and I see why it struck him so; there are some REAL points made in the book that spoke specifically to him and his situation. Appreciate it Mr. Boothe! Keep up the good work!
Great handbook for incarcerated black men and those fresh out too June 26, 2008 Highly recommended for incarcerated black men and those who were incarcerated before. Simple but invaluable advice from someone who has been there literally.
Great resource for inmates, former inmates, and prisons period........ May 11, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This guide takes a very honest and realistic viewpoint of life after incarceration for black men, and offers some useful and positive advice. I personally love self-help books that are written by those with real direct experience instead of so-called "professionals" who have no real experience with their topics. This author served substantial time in prison and has obviously turned his life circumstances around and become an entrepreneur and bestselling author, and that is to be commended and should be put forth as an example for other black men who have been incarcerated to observe and perhaps emulate. Highly recommended for institutional use as well.
