Product Description
Hailed as "the meanest queens in the cafeteria" by the Village Voice and "viciously funny" by The Hollywood Reporter, Heather Cocks and Jessica Morgan entertain 3.5 million unique visitors every month via GoFugYourself.com. Their smart, scathing dressing-down of fashion disasters has become a media sensation, with Time dubbing their website one of the fifty coolest blogs and Entertainment Weekly tagging it as one of the staff's twenty-five favorite sites on the Internet.

Now, with The Fug Awards, Heather and Jessica hand out honors such as the Sag Award for most egregious misuse of breasts and the Tanorexia Award for the person most addicted to bronzer. They prove that having an unlimited budget and a coterie of hangers-on is no barrier against committing glaring, eye-stinging sartorial missteps.

No celebrity, no matter how respected or revered, is beyond their reach. Not merely cutting, but also genuinely witty and slyly perceptive, The Fug Awards is celebrity schadenfreude at its hilarious best.

4 out of 5 stars Celebrity Dish Flavored With Spicy Wit.   June 20, 2008
Unlike most celebrity bloggers who mistake cruel and nasty digs for genuine humor, the Go Fug Yourself girls have in abundance what other bloggers so woefully lack: genuine talent and wit. The girls are wickedly talented writers, keen observationalists and are, at times, truly laugh-out-loud funny.

Although it is a celebrity based book, it's not just another tabloidy excuse to nastily kick the stars while they're down. The real draw here is the girls and their opinions themselves. Rather than the little snack-sized tidbits readers get each day from their blog at www.gofugyourself.com the book is a veritable smorgasbord of their one-liners, funny comparisons and personal revelations arranged in an awards-show format.

I suggest doing what I did. First, turn to your favorite stars to see what they had to say. Then pick it up, start from the beginning and read it for a bit. Then later you can pick up where you left off whenever you need a good laugh.

5 out of 5 stars Funny, Funny, Funny!   April 7, 2008
Did I mention it was funny? Only I wish it had more pictures of Intern George.

Okay, the book is kinda fun to leaf through, but so are the celebrity mags, blogs and web sites that feature countless badly dressed "stars" every week. As a blog, this stuff is timely, as a book, it's dated the day of publication. But the girls got paid,so hooray for them.

I love Go fug yourself, it's a bit of a guilty pleasure, and this book was fabulous. The only reason I'm not giving it 5 stars is that parts were a little boring and drawn out. But it is definitely worth a few giggles:)

4 out of 5 stars Fun, enjoyable and a tribute to their skill   March 26, 2008

This book is about the Oscar of fugly dressed famous people and the writers Heather and Jessica we all know and love for their wit and acerbic criticism of unbelievable badly dressed speople who nevertheless bask in the spotlight and damage our days, do uphold their fame. However, I did somewhat miss their usual elaborate and literary prose and their utterly comic exasperation about these fashion mishaps. That said, if you are like me a daily visitor of their website, you'll like this book.
