What a wonderful story of a family's triumphs and tribulations through the generations. Tied into historical events, this novel is a great read. I could not put it down. Gayleen Ienatsch

I really liked this book! Tracing a family tree can be very tedious work. Turning basic facts into interesting stories is something to be admired. I think everyone would enjoy this story, whether or not they are a McQuaid.
