Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
This textbook teaches ESL students to do research and write research papers by having them actually conduct research and writing in the area of second language acquisition. Writing Together is user-friendly because the material needed to do the research is included. Most or all library sources needed are included, which allows instructors the flexibility of supplementing with additional sources or not. The accompanying anthology includes journal articles chosen for readability level that are accompanied by supplementary exercises and activities to enhance readability. An article written by the authors introduces students to the subject matter and provides them with suitable background information. The textbook provides a chosen research project that involves how students determine the meaning of unknown vocabulary while reading. It's designed to raise consciousness about students' own use of word strategies while reading a second language. Writing Together encourages students to use cooperative learning techniques and to write in teams; it also encourages peer review rather than teacher review. Students also learn modern electronic search skills and other researching techniques.
