Fantastic September 16, 2008 This book is absolutely brilliant. It covers everthing, from the most basic aspects of the Craft such as casting circle and invoking the elements, to more advanced areas of witchcraft such as working on the astral plane. Each chapter works as an exercise book, where the first page or two describe the 'lesson', followed by half a dozen and more exercises for you to develope each ability. Everything is written in a chronological order. Each successive chapter is more advanced than the last, as are the exercises within each chapter, so that if you start your journey at the beginning of the book and work your way through, you will develope the basic skills needed later on to tackle the more advanced and challenging aspects of the Craft. All in all a fantastic guide book, a very valuable tool that no witch can afford to be without.

This is a great book, but it's a RE-ISSUE by a different publisher. I ordered two of them before I figured this out. If you already own The Real Witches' Craft: Magical Techniques and Guidance for a Full Year of Practicing the Craft (1995, Harper Element) do not expect a new Llewellen publication.
That said, this is a good book. All Kate West books have fit well into my life, not as a Wiccan but as a Witch. I also recommend books by Ann Moura.
