Book Description
At first my eyes wouldn't make sense of the letters. Finally, they unscrambled. Loving a Larger Woman, said the headline, by Bruce Guberman. Bruce Guberman had been my boyfriend for just over three years, until we'd decided to take a break three months ago. And the larger woman, I could only assume, was me. Cannie Shapiro never wanted to be famous. The smart, sharp, plus-sized pop culture reporter was perfectly content writing about other people's lives on the pages of the Philadelphia Examiner. But the day she opens up a national women's magazine to find out that her ex-boyfriend has been chronicling their ex-sex life is the day her life changes forever. Loving a larger woman is an act of courage in our world, Bruce has written. And Cannie -- who never knew that Bruce saw her as a "larger woman," or thought that loving her was an act of courage -- is plunged into misery, and into the most amazing year of her life. Radiant with wit, bursting with surprises, and written with bite and bittersweet humor, Jennifer Weiner's deliciously readable debut novel reaches beyond Cannie's story and into the heart of every woman. Gut-level real and laugh-out-loud funny, Good in Bed celebrates the courage of the human spirit, and features an unbelievably funny cast of supporting characters, the strangest dog you'll ever encounter, and a heroine you'll never forget.
Download Description The day pop-culture journalist Cannie Shapiro reads her ex-boyfriends' published story about their sex life is the day her life changes. Embarking on a journey through her past she confronts her ex, deals with her lesbian mother and sifts through the answer to how she got where she is--single, angry and exposed.

Entertaining and Comical June 27, 2008 I bought this book while I was on vacation at the beach. It was exactly what I wanted! I found myself laughing out loud at Cannie and her dog Nifkin. If you want a fun summer read, this is it!
Seriously? June 26, 2008 I bought this because I heard Weiner was a good author. This book was terrible! It was painful for me to flip through the story because Cannie was too whiny, the plot moved painstakingly slow, and it just wasn't that interesting.
Light summer read June 16, 2008 This book was a fast read and a good book for the beach. The author's characters are well developed and likable.
Delightful and believable June 12, 2008 I won't reiterate the plot because that's already been done. A friend sent me 2 of Jennifer Weiner's books, "Goodnight Nobody" and this book, "Good In Bed", is the first I've read so far. I found it hilarious, touching, romantic, tragic and most of all, believable. I consider myself lucky that I've not had to deal with weight issues, but Jennifer Weiner's writing style is so superb, I could feel every one of Cannie's emotions. I absolutely loved it. An excellent read!
Good, no Great! June 1, 2008 Such a happy little book, an easy to read, nice flowing book. Be prepared to realize your own insecurities can be overcome. Enjoy, worth the time reading! Just add a book jacket, 'cause everyone will be asking "What are you reading!"
