Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The newly updated Eighth Edition of Drugs in Pregnancy and Lactation is available in PDA format for quick, easy point-of-care reference. It provides reliable, practical information on over 1,175 drugs commonly prescribed to pregnant or lactating women. Each drug entry summarizes potential side effects on the embryo and fetus and drug passage to the nursing infant. FDA Risk Factor ratings for each drug are included. Drugs are listed alphabetically by generic, domestic, and foreign trade names. Recommendations for pregnancy and breastfeeding are listed at the top of each drug entry to provide for quick reference. This edition includes 127 new drug entries and covers more herbal medicines and nutritional supplements used by women. Special emphasis is placed on drug-induced developmental toxicity, taking dosage into consideration wherever possible. Summary paragraphs have been added to most drug entries. Platform: Palm OS, Windows CE, and Pocket PC handheld devices

5 out of 5 stars Great resource   November 15, 2008
I am a CNM and refer to this book often. It is well organized, easy to use and condenses the current research in a clear and succinct manner.

Big, bountiful, beautiful book. Heavy, hard to get around, huge for transport reference guide. Quite expensive and not very portable... palm pilot version would be nice or quick, pocket reference....

5 out of 5 stars my single most valuable reference book   January 20, 1999

I do locum tenens (temporary) doctoring and when I go on an assignment this is the first book to go in my suitcase. I take it to the office with me in the morning and take it home at night in case I get a question that I need it for. It is clear, concise, comprehensive and as authoritative as any text can be. If you care for or prescribe meds to pregnant or lactating women, this is a "must have".
