Product Description
"Disgestive Wellness for Children" is a primer for all parents who are interested in learning about, and actively supporting, their children's digestive health. It provides practical instructions for keeping children healthy, for healing them when they aren't, and for feeding them healthful foods that will provide the nutrients they need to stay well and strong from infancy through the teen years. The first part of this book is an overview of children's health issues. The second part is a "crash course" in nutrition awareness. The third part examines numerous digestive conditions from infancy to adolescence and from mouth to bowel-including food sensitivities/alergies; leaky gut syndrome; colic, teething, and spiting up; gastroesophageal reflux/hiatal hernia; Hirschsprung's disease; celiac disease; ulcerative colitis; and Crohn's disease. The fourth part discusses and offers natural supportive and healing options for digestive and other issues associated with a myriad of medical problems including arthritis, asthma, attention deficit disorder, autism, cystic fibrosis, diabetes, Down syndrome, influenza, migraine, and more. Included are detailed, easily navigated appendices on laboratory tests and disease-healing options. "Distestive Wellness for Children" is one of the most useful and comprehensive tools for parents to use in the vital quest for their children's best health.

Customer Reviews:

5 out of 5 stars Lots of good basic information   September 15, 2008
Just as good for adult tummies as is for children's! Lot's of good basic information on how the gi tract works and how this can cause/affect other health conditions. It's funny because we spend alot of time on researching what kind of carseat to get or what type of educational activities are best for our child, yet we seem to not think twice about their gi tracts until it becomes a major issue. My child is recovering from autism thanks to lots of dietary research and the Specific Carb Diet(and help from all his therapists and teachers). This book seems to have a good overview of everything I've read. I'm recommending it to anyone I know who has gi trouble or autoimmune issues. Like any holistic type book it recommends all kinds of supplements, but I found that does not seem to take away from the book at all.
