- Well known, highly regarded contributors lend credibility to the discussions.
- Case studies throughout the book describe situations that PAs are likely to be faced with in practice, along with an explanation of how the situation can be addressed and handled.
- Clinical Applications present suggestions and activities for students to further explore subjects, designed to help develop critical thinking skills.
- A variety of procedures typically performed by PAs are introduced and described, familiarizing the reader with how to perform them on the job.

Excellent text ! August 29, 2007 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I found the text excellent. Enough core material to pass recert exams to be sure. As always I believe each institution has its own approach to teaching. Having attended Hahnemann Univ. where one of the authors (Stolberg) deftly guided the program, students and staff for years to great successes I may be biased or simply "click" with the way this book presents information as it is how I learned but I think in all honesty the book is well done and serves its manifold purposes. - John Gaudino
Helpful August 21, 2007 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I thought this booked helped quite a bit in my first year of PA school. And somebody here obviously didn't get into the MEDEX program.
Don't waste your time July 10, 2003 6 out of 16 found this review helpful
This book is too verbose, painful to read, out of date, and will simply gain dust on your bookshelf until you finally throw it away. Don't waste your money on this piece of junk. As worthless as the MEDEX program Ballweg heads, I'd say.
A Good Help for Boards May 18, 2000 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
I felt this book is worthwhile to supplement studies for certification and recertification for national boards.
