Product Description
This Third Edition focuses on chronic health problems and their impact on an individual's physical, cognitive, psychological, and social capabilities. Readers learn how the patient's age, life tasks, and living environment affect occupational therapy needs, and how to determine what occupational therapy services to provide. Chapters present the etiology, symptoms, prognosis, and progression of conditions frequently encountered in practice. Case studies at the end of every chapter help students apply the content to real-life clinical situations. This edition includes new chapters on anxiety disorders and cardiopulmonary disorders. The expanded art program includes more photos, drawings, charts, and graphs.

great price of book June 11, 2008 Although we never used it in class it has helped me with my research papers, and case studies. IT was in excellent condition
Ben and Diane's former student May 8, 2008 I'm happy to see this book here. I am a former student of the authors and I'd say they know their stuff. They are well-connected and do their research to provide quality information to their students, as well as to their readers. The previous edition was a great resource, and I am sure this one is as well.

Hi, I ordered this book for a class. I got it quick and it was in brand new condition as promised. Thanks Amazon!
Conditions in Occupational Therapy January 1, 2008 I had this book in a Conditions Impacting Occupation course. The book does provide the very basic criteria concerning a select few conditions, however I would not suggest it as a primary source for information regarding health conditions. It contains several grammatical errors, and each chapter is set up entirely different from the others. Many chapters are unorganized and difficult to follow, and I question the validity of some of the information provided in the text.
From a Student Perspective October 6, 2000 11 out of 11 found this review helpful
I am taking my Adult Physical Dysfunction class right now and almost every diagnosis in the book is one that we are studying. The case studies throughout the book are very helpful and BEST of all, the book gives an Occupational Performance Profile to let me (as a beginning OT) know which performance areas and components are being affected for each specific patient. It is a wonderful book.
