poorly organized September 21, 2008 This book is a bit too dry and recondite for beginners. The organization is terrible and explanation is not clear at all.
If you are a rookie about to entering the field of audiology. this book would only push you away~
Great book September 17, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have a profesor who doesn't know the first thing about teaching. The only way I am surviving is by keeping up with this book. It is so clear. The only issue I have with it is that it doesn't always define the bolded key terms until a couple pages later.
It's what the title says... May 10, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
It's an introduction to audiology. If you're new to the discipline, then this is a pretty good starting point. However, it's not detailed enough for postgrad or research. For that I'd buy Katz's Handbook of Clinical Audiology or Roeser's Audiology Diagnosis.

I just want to say that this text book is really easy to understand as well as to read. If some kind of uncertainty arises you can always refer to the CD that it comes with and it will help you understand the material in a more efficient and concrete way. I am happy with the text and I can now understand the science behind the hearing mechanism. I would recommend this text for the begginers with an interest to specialize in hearing and/or speech sciences.
