Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
The ultimate anatomy atlas for medical study, clinical reference, and patient education, this updated masterpiece offers 534 of Netters own accurate, clear and beautifully rendered illustrations along with eight Netter-style drawings rendered by Carlos A.G. Machado, MD. Netters incomparable medical art and artistry reflects his personal belief in the power of the visual image to teach without overwhelming the student with dense, confusing text. To clarify rather than intimidate remains the distinctive and effective Netter approach and its been working since the publication of the first edition in 1989.

This masterwork has trained over 1,000,000 medical and health-science students
since its first release in 1989.

Updated with over 200 revised Netter illustrations, this new edition of the classic human anatomy atlas presents a total of 534 of Netters own accurate, clear and precisely rendered illustrations along with 8 new Netter-style, surface anatomy drawings by Carlos A.G. Machado, MD.

This extraordinary new edition takes a major step forward to include surface anatomy and radiographic images to give a fuller, more integrated understanding of human anatomy. The index is expanded and improved, the references are updated, and a number of images are revised to reflect current knowledge. To clarify rather than intimidate continues to be the distinctive and effective Netter approach.

New Surface Anatomy Images - Each section begins with a surface anatomy plate to draw attention to the surface features that anticipate the underlying anatomy as well as highlight the value of careful observation in clinical medicine.

New Radiographic Images For further investigation into anatomical detail

New and Revised Anatomical Images Some plates were selected from Netters Collection of Medical Illustrations 13-volume masterwork. Other images have been slightly revised and updated to reflect current knowledge.

Expanded and improved index and updated references

5 out of 5 stars A fantastic resource   July 23, 2008
Frank Netter, M.D. created approximately 20,000 paintings of the human body and provided countless medical students with an invaluable educational resource. He can be credited for teaching multiple generations of doctors worldwide. Although he is now deceased, his legacy continues to provide students with intricate knowledge that only a physician and gifted artist could have given. I am thrilled to have purchased what I consider an educational necessity for such a reasonable price.

5 out of 5 stars Best Atlas   July 21, 2008
As a medical student, purchasing a Netters Atlas is essential. I borrowed one during anatomy, but bought my own after the class so that I could always have it for referencing.

5 out of 5 stars Netters= the Anatomy Bible   June 30, 2008
As an Anatomy Masters student, I highly recommend Netters for anyone who is taking an advanced anatomy course especially graduate students and medical students. This book has wonderfully detailed pictures that aid in your studying, and the online Netters is riddled with study hints, image downloads and has really improved my study guide capabilities. This book may be a bit advanced for most undergraduate courses (there are cheaper ones out there with everything you need), but will definitely cover all the material you need to know.

4 out of 5 stars Good For Gross Anatomy   June 16, 2008
This text has quality, picture that will help you understand gross anatomy. If you want a clinical atlas this is not the one for you. It does have the MRI's, CT etc. However, it does the the job for the student and helps for provide a greater understanding of gross anatomy.

5 out of 5 stars Medicine student review   June 14, 2008
It's got fully detailed and realistic drawings.Helps get your bearings on human anatomy and it's sections and layers helps you to get to know exactly what you need. Easy to understand beautifully drew. The 2006 edition includes new drawings from his "aprentices" specially Carlos Machado, and new clinical cases,x-rays,etc. if you intend to buy a netter, and you wonder if it's worth buying a 2004 you better save some money which you won't regret. It's easier to understand and its sections are better placed then sobotta's. But if you prefer real corpses pictures you might preffer yokochi's.
