thank god the series is done being destroyed. April 22, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Lightner just barely redeemed "themselves" with the final installment of the space wolf series. After destroying Kings work with the past couple novels they redeemed themselves ever so slightly with Wolfs Honour with somewhat better writing. If you can over look the over use of phrases, they easily called Ragnar the Young Space Wolf 20 times on a single page and that was only after randomly introducing it in a paragraph 4 chapters in and confusing the young space wolf with Harald and Ragnar in the paragraph several times before figuring out they wanted to reference Ragnar as the young space wolf which by this time he really isn' t. Then they managed to use every cliche movie scene a person could think of. And even after all this Ragnar barely manages to survive the book more out of simple dumb luck and the fact that he is the "movie star" of the novel and can't be killed. Theres so many inconsistencies that its hard to overlook them. The space wolves can be hit with artillery and still live but a single bolt from a bolt pistol to a thousand son chaos marine will drop him. Just read this book to finish the series but be ready for a frustrating read. Good luck and sorry King I didn't think it could get any worse. Dan Abnett here I come, I need something to reinvigorate my love for the Black Library.
a good conclusion April 1, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Well the final installment in the Ragnar Blackmane series. It wraps the story up nicely, though some parts seemed rushed it was still a book that I enjoyed. I was disappointed that it would end, I really did enjoy the series, reading all the books in order. This had a good wrap to it, tho a bit corny how it ends... bad guy loses haha. but it's worth the read if you enjoyed the series, and has good characters.
Exciting finale to the saga of Ragnar. March 31, 2008 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
If you enjoyed Sons of Fenris, then you won't want to miss this exciting conclusion to the Ragnar Blackmane saga. Ragnar is still seeking the Spear of Russ and the Thousands Sons are still up to their evil schemes in this final book in the Ragnar trilogy which started with Wolfblade. My local Games Workshop Battle Bunker store got ten copies of this book in stock last week and it sold out in just a few days. Grab a copy of this book where you can find it and see for yourself how Ragnar deals with the forces of Chaos.
