Product Description Nursing is a popular field that features fierce competition. A crucial component of this field is nursing school entrance exams. These are not only a required part of admission, but also a common basis for a career-long evaluation of academic abilities and social skills. Nursing School Entrance Exam provides essential test preparation in the three main exam areas: math, reading rate, and reading comprehension.

Helpful Reviewer August 25, 2008 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
I just recently took the TEAS (Test for Essential Academic Skills) It's one of the requirements in applying for the nursing program. The TEAS booklet provided by ATI was too expensive for me so I decided to get this book instead. The Math and the General Science part were really helpful because it went through the most important concepts. If you are taking the TEAS, just focus on basic major concepts. This book covers too many facts and details in the other subject areas.
Fast delivery and covers over and beyond what you need to know step by step April 20, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I purchased this product and it came super-fast, I like it, and its not as pricey as the one the school wanted me to buy but its soo detailed in helping you and the CD ROM is a great too that comes with it. Its wonderful and I recommend this and not the one the school says because this covers everything one ever learns in hs and college...lol, but it was a good refresher. Good luck on your test and with this book I know you will be ready to ace it. Its given me confidence!

perfect for needing a math refresher November 10, 2007 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
This book was just what I was looking for because of the math review sections. It completly went over everything I needed for the test and I feel much more confident in my answers. It had the other subjects as well, but the math part is what I needed. I very much recommend this book if your looking to refresh material you haven't seen since high school!!!
Useful, but a lot of stuff you wont need July 6, 2007 6 out of 7 found this review helpful
I found this book to be useful enough to give it three stars, but the NET test I took didn't have half the stuff on it. Mine had a lot of little, repetitive parts about how I take tests, how much stress I have, etc. It would have been nice if this book prepared me for those monotonous questions, but I guess that's something they want you to answer on your own. My test didn't have any of the sciences or spelling questions at all. So really, the only part that came in handy was the math, and even that had a lot of stuff I didn't need, but skipped the ratios as another reviewer mentioned, which I did need.
Another complaint is the CD, which is just a repeat of the tests in the book. I thought it would contain more sample tests. Still, it's a whole lot cheaper than the $30 tiny book they tried to sell us at the school to prepare for the test. I actually think it is a much better resource than the NET test for finding your strengths and weaknesses.
As far as actually helping you study for the NET, well, it's pretty much hit or miss depending on what your test is like. But it's still not a bad book.
