Book Description Bo Tully is the sheriff of Blight County, Idaho, a place where "law enforcement" is mostly picking up country boys who've downed a few too many beers. But he gets a call for a different kind of pick-up: an ex-con phones with the news that there's a corpse draped over his fence. Soon Tully's caught up in a mess, with dead L.A. drug dealers turning up and local folks disappearing. When bullets start flying, Tully has to brush off his sheriff's hat and do some real investigating fast.
Download Description Bo Tully, sheriff of Blight County, Idaho -- and a fellow who dropped twenty pounds on Atkins -- had been thinking about asking out Jan Whittle, his grade-school sweetheart. Problem is, he's already promised to celebrate his dad's seventy-fifth birthday with him. Thwarted romance proves to be the least of Bo's problems, however, when a dead body turns up on Batim Scragg's ranch. The baffling thing is that neither Batim nor his two wayward sons appear to be the culprits. Forced to put on his sleuthing hat, Bo finds himself faced with a whole slew of possible suspects. And what quickly becomes apparent is that, while the sheriff's investigative methods may not exactly be legal, they are, for better or worse, The Blight Way. A bestselling author with more than two million books in print, the curmudgeonly wit Patrick McManus delivers a page-turning mystery filled with mirth and misadventure set in hook-and-bullet territory.

Fabulously Entertaining Audio Book June 21, 2008 My husband and I are big audio book fans and this is one of the most enjoyable ones we've heard in quite a while. Charles Leggett, the reader couldn't be better. His voices set the atmosphere for a good mystery that is full of wit. I can't wait for the next collaboration between McManus and Leggett.
McManus June 2, 2008 Another outstanding book by Ole' Pat. If you have read his work you will injoy this one very much. Cannot wait for the next in the series.
Fun & Easy to Read April 7, 2008 I enjoyed it. McManus has a great gift for humor. This may be his first venture into murder mysteries, but it is a fun and surprisingly good storyline. The book doesn't strive to get you to bite off all your fingernails in anxious anticipation of the final scene, but it does succeed in keeping your interest and putting life into a wide variety of colorful characters.
Patrick McMannus "The Blight Way" March 28, 2008 Good mystery written in the McMannus way, he weaves a good mystery with good attention to detail, I hope he continues the series on Bo Tully.
Patrick McManus is the World's Best Author! September 13, 2007 I have been a fan of Mr. McManus' short stories for years. It turns out that his talent is endless! In this full length novel we are introduced to Bo Tulley, Pap, and a pet spider! This is a great escape read! I was a bit worried that if Mr. McManus switched from humor to mystery writing that I may be disappointed by the serious approach. I need not have worried. This is a well told story by a writer who can handle any genre!
Great work Mr. McManus!!!
