4 out of 5 stars Better than the latest Artemis Fowl.   July 3, 2008

I reckon this was pretty good. it seems like Eoin Colfer put a bit of effort into making this a good book - and certainly put a lot of research behind it to back it up.
I love the way Colfer writes - its not only easy to read, but he's got it planned out so that the reader is asking new questions at every page, and not getting the answers until the end.
I loved it, though it was only a kids book, but more things happened in it than some of the adult books that go round and round in circles before getting to a ending,
and it seems like eoin put more effort into this book - to get it off the ground, than he put into his latest artemis fowl- which is just gliding on his previous successes.
I liked it, and I definitely want to see more original stories from Eoin in the future.
Happy Reading

3 out of 5 stars Conner is not Artemis   June 11, 2008

Sure the Artemis Fowl books aren't literature. They don't even have much details or story, but they are wicked fun. So while I was waiting to get my kid brothers the next Artemis story (coming out in July 2008 btw) I got this one but my brothers universally loathed it. Go figure. I was told matter of factly Connor isn't Artemis, not even close.

4 out of 5 stars Great Story   May 22, 2008
This is another great story from this author. I would recommend it for the entire family. We always listen to the stories together.

5 out of 5 stars Eoin Colfer does it again   May 16, 2008
this is another great story from a master story-teller. I love reading anything written by Eoin Colfer. Airman was full of adventure, dispair, love, and more. It was a great story of determination and will. I highly recommend it.

5 out of 5 stars Airman   May 14, 2008
Eoin Colfer is an amazing author. He can write a book that can combine love and romance, and action and adventure. This book will burn the midnight oil because of its wonderful ability to keep the reader going. "Airman" also has the ability to make you feel the emotions that the main character Conor is feeling. You can fell the hatred for Bonvilain, the love for Isabella, and his hopes and dreams to someday fly.

As I was reading this book, I couldn't help but think, "This book would make a great movie!" It has just the right amount of romance and the right amount of adventure that anyone can enjoy (yes that's right even the boys) and it doesn't have too much fantasy so that it couldn't be believed on the big screen.

Although this book was exellent in my opinion, there were some things that I didn't expect. Even though it is not a bad thing I thought that the book would talk more about his experiences in Little Saltee, but the author actually let Conor escape within the middle of the book.

Another thing that slightly bothers me is the fact that Eoin Colfer, being the great author that he is hasn't anounced a sequel to "Airman". Eoin, if you ever read this, I hope you realize that you shouldn't just end the book where you did. I personally would like to know just how far Isabella and Conor's love develop and what other amazing inventions he can come up with to better the world.

All in all, this book is one of Eoin Colfer's best work, which was able to perfectly combine different emotions and feelings and at the same time give the reader a nice helping of hope and courage.
