Product Description It's getting dark out, but one stubborn Pigeon is NOT going to bed! Toddlers and parents will love this interactive bedtime romp which puts readers back in the driver's seat, deflecting Pigeon's sly trickery as he tries to escape his inevitable bedtime. Great book - for any time BUT bedtime! July 23, 2008 The pigeon throws all the standard tricks to get you to let him stay up late, you say no a lot, he falls asleep and dreams of having a hot dog party. Everybody's happy!
His arguments range the gamut from almost-sincere to positively silly to, of course, none at all. Great fun, can't find words to express that.
This book will tend to hype a kid up. If you are reading this at bedtime, put another, calmer book after it in the line-up. Something like "Goodnight Moon" or "Goodnight, Mr. Night" or "The Going to Bed Book". However, for daytime storytelling this is definitely great for the more fidgety kids, who get distracted at storytime easily. It *demands* audience participation.
Good, not as good as Don't Let The Pigeon Drive The Bus May 21, 2008 It's a cute follow-on, but somehow doesn't capture the magic of "Don't Let The Pigeon Drive The Bus!"
Don't Let These Books pass you by! May 2, 2008 Excellent book for a young reader. The story is really funny. Keeps my son engaged and we read one story every night! The whole series is hilarious.
Fun reading April 5, 2008 I bought this book to have to read with my grandchildren when they are visiting us and want a book read to them. It is fun to read for both adults and children. And the pigeon does sound the way they do when they want something. In fact, that has become a family password if they start to whine while they are here!
Love that Mo Willems February 10, 2008 My daughter still really loves this book. It is part of a bedtime ritual that helps her get ready for bed. We read it really animated and all have fun with it. She can usually talk both of us into reading it. There's yawning and eye shutting and near the end we drop our voices and talk softly and she follows suit. All in all, a great fun and fast read. Just relax and let yourself have fun with putting your child to bed. Of course we own most of the pigeon books and the knuffle bunnies. Hardly a night goes by without at least one of them being read.
