My Ancestor The Writer January 3, 2007
My father, a Michigan historian, determined that Colonel Creecy was an ancestor of ours, and had a copy of this book inplanted in the Michigan state archives, even though Col. Creecy was from Carolina.
Whatever you may think of Colonel Creecy's views on such subjects as slavery, a condition he makes sound more pleasant than one would suppose, he was a spritely writer about a period contemporary to Huckleberry Finn, and doubtless a product of his own time and setting.
