The Great Faith Test June 23, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This story is filled with the love of God and the expectations of God. WHen God doesn't answer the prayers the way you expect him to. thats when your faith shows up and becomes the strength you live by. Amazing Grace!

When I Lay My Isaac Down: Unshakable Faith in Unthinkable Circumstances
This book brought me back from a month of severe depression. And it renewed my faith in God. I have shared it with two friends who have absolutely felt as I did about the book. Carol Kent writes about an unspeakable family crisis and her decision to cling to her faith in spite of her grief. I recommend this book heartily to anyone facing a crisis and especially a crsis of faith.

This is a powerful book examining tragic circumstances and the process one goes through in order to allow God to love and help us though our pain. I have recommended this book to many and all call or come back to say how it helped them in their struggles.
The Best Book Ever Written for Families of Inmates April 26, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This lady has walked in my shoes. AND she shared her story. That is a rare but most wonderful feeling to know I am not alone in the world. Thank you Carol Kent, and I am looking forward to your sequel

I was very inspired by the faith of the author, and her husband, when life took them down a road they never expected God would ask them to travel, and through trials beyond those that most of us will be asked to bear. After reading the book (borrowed) I immediately ordered 4 copies, one for myself and copies for friends who were facing their own trials. This book reminds us that as Christians we are not immune to trials, but that a faith in God gives us a rock to cling to in the midst of the raging seas of life.
