I have had the privilege to work with Dr. Lesslie during the summer at Camp Joy many times and the same care and compassion that he has for special needs campers is shown here is this GREAT book. I have the privilege of working woth Doctor Leslie. He is truly a one of a kind person, who if I ever needed emergency care, I hope he would be available. I have live some of the experiences in the book with him. Truly there are angels in the ER. Fantastic reading, and a few tears too.

I have the privilege of knowing Robert Lessie personally. He is an active member of my church and Sunday School class. I have also been to him as a patient and I can tell you his book reflects the true character of his being.
When I heard that he wrote a book that was being published I was so excited! How many people do you know that have been published? He is certainly the first for me.
After reading the excerpt I ordered 7 books to give as gifts. I began reading mine the day it arrived and couldn't put it down. I was captivated by his writing style. It was like he was sitting with me telling me these experiences that he had in the Emergency Room. The book is comprised of many incidents that easily flow together making it hard to put down. I found myself going through a range of emotions..laughing one minute and crying the next. As I approached the end of the book, I found myself slowing down...I didn't want it to end.
I hear through the grapevine that Robert is working on another book and I can hardly wait to read it!
I promise you will not be bored reading "Angels in the ER"!

Stories from the ER...
Working in an Emergency Room is stressful, but also rewarding. Robert Lesslie, MD is an ER doctor in South Carolina. In his book, Angels In the ER, he shares the many stories he has witnessed. Among the many stories, the reader will discover victims of gunshot wounds, vacationers' side-tracked by a brain tumor, and those that come in on a regular basis hoping for a warm meal.
Each will bring a smile to your lips and tears to your eyes. The people that work in the ER are unique. Virginia has the appearance of a heart of steel, but underneath that exterior lays a heart of compassion. Dr. Lesslie has a humble demeanor, caring for his patients and getting to know the real angels of the ER.
Dr. Lesslie writes in an easy-to-read conversational style. He drew me into this book from the first story and held me captive until the last. He combines wit and drama to describe what really happens in the ER. He begins each story with a scripture. This book could be used as a devotional, but I read it in one sitting, I couldn't lay it down. Each story led me to the next one. There are many angels that are unrecognized. Thank you, Dr. Lesslie, for telling us about a few of them.
