Product Description
Today's twisted pictures of gender roles create confusion over how a woman should define herself. Women and men are encouraged to move closer to center and away from the traits that distinguish male from female. How can women feel good about themselves when society is constantly dictating what they can and should be? In FIGHT LIKE A GIRL, Lisa Bevere exhorts us to embrace the differences between sexes. Her goal is to encourage women to celebrate the unique aspects of femininity. Instead of trying to adopt ill-fitting character traits, women should see themselves as designed and valued by God and savor their femininity as their strength, not a flaw.

5 out of 5 stars Revolutionizing   June 16, 2008

I love Lisa Bevere. Everytime she writes or speaks, I pay attention. In "Fight Like a Girl" I was so transformed. It revolutionized the way I viewed myself as a woman, especially as a woman of God. I try to keep a copy for myself and then an extra copy to give away to any woman I feel led to give it to. I always get such gratitude for it later. I'm also keeping a copy to give to my daughter when she's ready. She's just three months old right now, but that's how much I believe in this book. I want to make sure I have it when she's ready.

5 out of 5 stars Life changing for women of all ages   March 20, 2008

This is a life changing book for women of all ages. We have used this book, along with the DVD teaching, for our women's bible study at our church. The DVD teaching has twelve half hour teachings that are awesome. We invited our teens from the youth group and had a great turn out. It has been incredible to see these junior high, high school and college girls keeping up with the reading and engaging in the discussion time. Those of us that are older have had special times of prayer with the younger girls. We are all so excited about the renewing that is taking place in us as we hear this valuable message. There is no male bashing, it is all about us coming up beside the men and embracing our feminity instead of trying to deny it. It will change your church one woman at a time. Highly recommended.

4 out of 5 stars Strong women, strong faith, strong lives   February 25, 2008

This book and video series was taught in our women's discipleship group. I appreciated Lisa's depth, her honesty, and her challenge to be strong women of faith, but also strong women in every area of our lives.

This book was purchased for my daughter who is 17 years old and she enjoyed it tremendously. She even read passages to me and we talked about various subjects brought up in the book.

5 out of 5 stars WOW!   January 11, 2007

This book really brought home some issues I thought I had already overcome. Very empowering and liberating for both men and women to read. Opened my eyes to more understanding of the subject and what women are up against and what it is going to take to get us back to where we belong as women.
