Editorial Reviews:

Book Description
Since its first edition in 1990, The Anxiety and Phobia Workbook has sold more than 600,000 copies. Its engaging exercises and worksheets have helped millions of readers make real progress in overcoming problems with anxiety and phobic disorders. The Authoritative Guide to Self-Help Resources in Mental Health (Norcross, et al., 2003) gave the book its highest rating and praised it as "a highly regarded and widely known resource." Thousands of mental health and medical professionals recommend this book to their clients and patients every year. Simply put, it is the single finest source of self-help information on its topic available anywhere.

The text of this fourth edition has been fully revised and expanded and includes two new chapters: a discussion of physical conditions that can aggravate anxiety and an overview of the use of mindfulness practice in the treatment of generalized anxiety disorder and some forms of obsessive-compulsive disorder. As in previous editions, the book offers the most up-to-date information on medications, natural supplements, and complementary strategies that can alleviate anxiety symptoms. The sections on relaxation, nutrition, and exercise have all been updated and broadened.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent service of product as ordered.   May 9, 2008
Thanks for the timely receipt of the book ordered. It was exactly as described. THANKS.

5 out of 5 stars This book is the sh__t !   May 7, 2008
This was the 1st self help tome I ever bought-on the recommendation of my shrink.

I've had it since Nov of 1994 and I still have much to learn, grasshoppers.

This isn't just some lame, dry, DSM tome.

I am currently rocking the last part on higher power and having a spiritual connection though I have to go back over and over to other chapters.

This book covers all of life and as such it is like a lifetime bible of the highest order ! You'll spend the next 50 years getting mileage from this puppy !\

Bon Appetite'

5 out of 5 stars A great tool.   April 13, 2008
Many people that come to see me for therapy have moderate to severe anxiety. It is so nice to be able to be able to tell them to get this book and work through it between sessions. I really find it helps them. Lots of great tips!

5 out of 5 stars Anxiety book very helpful   April 1, 2008
The information in this book was useful and easy to understand. I found it quite helpful.

5 out of 5 stars Thorough and helpful   March 31, 2008
I have found this book very helpful. I was ready to schedule an appointment with a therapist regarding anxiety and claustrophobia when she recommended I buy this book. Since reading it, I have felt better and will hold off on therapy. It presents tools very well, but it is the reader's responsibility to follow through and apply them. I recommend it highly.
