Editorial Reviews:

Book Description
The Complete Guide to Asperger's Syndrome is the definitive handbook for anyone affected by Asperger's syndrome (AS). It brings together a wealth of information on all aspects of the syndrome for children through to adults.

Drawing on case studies and personal accounts from Attwood's extensive clinical experience, and from his correspondence with individuals with AS, this book is both authoritative and extremely accessible. Chapters examine: causes and indications of the syndrome; the diagnosis and its effect on the individual; theory of mind; the perception of emotions in self and others; social interaction, including friendships; long-term relationships; teasing, bullying and mental health issues; the effect of AS on language and cognitive abilities, sensory sensitivity, movement and co-ordination skills; and career development.

There is also an invaluable frequently asked questions chapter and a section listing useful resources for anyone wishing to find further information on a particular aspect of AS, as well as literature and educational tools.

Essential reading for families and individuals affected by AS as well as teachers, professionals and employers coming in contact with people with AS, this book should be on the bookshelf of anyone who needs to know or is interested in this complex condition.

5 out of 5 stars The Complete Guide to Asperger's Syndrome   April 16, 2008
An excellent resource and reference guide to help understand behaviuor of people with this syndrome.

5 out of 5 stars Incredible source of information about Asperger   April 5, 2008
This book is incredeble.
In every page, I can find situation that have an echo for adult asperger.

For adult, diagnostic is more difucult to obtain, because the adults has a lot of bypass strategic of asperger limitation. With this book, the adult can undestand him-self and confirm the diagnostic.

I have read other book, but this one is realy the best.

(sorry, english is not my native language)

5 out of 5 stars The Asperger's Bible   March 22, 2008
If you or someone close to you has symptoms suggesting Asperger's Syndrome, this is the one book that will inform you and help you understand how to create effective motivation and education for a child and to find an appropriate lifestyle and employment for an adult. It was originally recommended by a psychologist working with a family member, and has been useful to everyone who interacts with that family member.

5 out of 5 stars Excellent   February 22, 2008
I bought this book to learn more about my daughter who has been diagnosed with Asperger's. I must say that this book is about her life. What I have allready learned through the years when coping with her special way of thinking is really explaned in this book. I would advise anyone who comes in contact with a person with Aperger's, whether a child or adult to read and learn. It will help the `Aspie`, for you will be able to communicate on the right level. It prevents misunderstandings in communication and you will have a much better relationship. Be it in family or other relationships such as school or work.

5 out of 5 stars Great book if you want to understand the problem   February 13, 2008

This was my first book on Aspergers - it was a great read. I understand the Syndrome more now. I with it had more on the Syndrome in toddlers - it seems that research is lacking on Aspergers in toddlers. However, it was a great book and I recommend it to anyone going through Aspergers themselves or with their children.
