Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Massie Block: The Briarwood boys have invaded OCD and are taking over everything. Worse, the soccer boys have become so popular that the Pretty Committee's alpha status is in serious jeopardy. So Massie lays out a New Year-New Pretty Committee rule: Anyone caught crushing on a boy will be thrown out of the NPC-forever. But will she be able to follow her own decree when she sees that Derrington has ditched his shorts-obsession in favor of ah-dorable jeans?

Alicia Rivera: Is the opposite of onboard with the boyfast. Her crush, the Ralph Lauren-luh-ving Josh Hotz, is more irresistible than creme brulee fro-yo. But is he worth losing her spot in the NPC? And taking on the wrath of Massie?

Dylan Marvil: Is so ready for the boyfast. She's straightened her unruly red hair and permanently pressed boys out of her life. If only she could do the same with curly fries and caramel popcorn.

Kristen Gregory: Has traded her sporty-chic Pumas for Billabong board shorts and a shark tooth necklace. She claims she's sworn off boy-crushes, so what's with her Blue Crush makeover?

Claire Lyons: Spent all summer thinking about Cam's one blue eye and one green eye. But now he's moved on to a new girl faster than you can say cuh-yutest couple. At least Claire finally has a secure spot in the NPC-unless jealousy-flirting breaks the boyfast. . . .

The Clique: The only thing harder than getting in is staying in.

2 out of 5 stars Stupid   July 21, 2008
Stupid stupid stupid. Seriously. Read something worth the time. Such as Jane Austen. Ever heard of her? Yeah, I thought not. Seriously. What are you all thinking? She declares a boyfast. Massie calls herself an ALPHA. How is that not stupid? Stupid stupid. No offence:)

5 out of 5 stars Great!   May 26, 2008
This book was really good. Although it was unrealistic, it was Fan-Tastic! The Pretty Committee starts their 8th grade year and decides to keep boys out of the picture. Of course, one of the members of The PC decides to break the law. In order to get back in, she has to do something. This book is really good and is a great addition to the series!

4 out of 5 stars An Intriguing Book   May 22, 2008
In the book Bratfest at Tiffany's Lisi Harrison did a good job of making it so it wasn't boring. The book was about how Massie had made up a rule that they couldn't flirt with boys for the year which was called the boyfast but it wasn't going very well at all. There were too many people in the school (they called them the overflow) and they didn't have enough room for them so at the beginning of the year they had a trailer that they put a bunch of kids in. The principle would teach them and the pretty committee was assigned to be in there and they weren't very happy about that because they were with the LBR's (losers beyond repair) and they didn't want to be known as one of them and were determined to change it as soon as possible.
I thought that it was funny how some of the girls thought that they could keep secrets from the rest of them. Also how Massie thinks that she could keep the boyfest and accepted the rest to do the same. I liked the book and I would recommend it. It is a good book for people who like drama but I think that it is a good book.

5 out of 5 stars Eighth Grade changes everything   April 25, 2008
1 out of 1 found this review helpful

For the pretty committee, eighth grade is a living nightmare. After the pool accident at Briarwood academy the boys are forced to attend Octavian Country Day school with the girls. Massie feels betrayed, the boys are the new alpha and everyone but the pretty committee worships them, so Massie comes up with an idea/rule that all of the members of the pretty committee must follow; The pretty committee is now the new pretty committee, and that means that anyone who is caught crushing on a boy gets the boot. This is especially hard for Massie's beta; Alicia Rivera who is absolutely and completely in love with Josh hotz, who likes her just as much as she likes him. Josh and Alicia come up with a plan to stop Massie from realizing their togetherness. Of course, being the alpha that she is Massie sees right through it, and Alicia gets kicked out of the NPC. In the end Massie drops the ban on boys and welcomes Alicia back to the PC after some major mooching on Alicia's part!
