Product Description Mackenzie Allen Philips' youngest daughter, Missy, has been abducted during a family vacation and evidence that she may have been brutally murdered is found in an abandoned shack deep in the Oregon wilderness. Four years later in the midst of his Great Sadness, Mack receives a suspicious note, apparently from God, inviting him back to that shack for a weekend. Against his better judgment he arrives at the shack on a wintry afternoon and walks back into his darkest nightmare. What he finds there will change Mack's world forever. In a world where religion seems to grow increasingly irrelevant "The Shack" wrestles with the timeless question, "Where is God in a world so filled with unspeakable pain?" The answers Mack gets will astound you and perhaps transform you as much as it did him. You'll want everyone you know to read this book!

awesome May 12, 2008 I thought this is probably one of the best books, that I have read, in the last 20 years. I really enjoyed the principles. It has had a deep impact on me.
LOVE MAKES IT ALL WORK OUT May 11, 2008 A super story about how bad things happen to good people and how we can use all of our life experiences to find true wisdom. You learn how God loves us and seeks a sincere personal relationship with each of us. The Trinity is explained in a truly odd but clarifying manner. Well worth your time. Could be life changing for me.
Compelling Book May 11, 2008 This book was hard to put down. It is well written and gives an extrordinary view into the heart of God. The author makes a compelling case for the sovereignty and love of God (even in the most tragic of circumstances).
amazing book May 11, 2008 I have been a pastor for 26 years. I have a masters in theology. I've read innumerable books on the faith. Most every Sunday, I preach at my church about the Christian faith and who God is. I should know all this stuff! Then I read The Shack. It has transformed how I pray. It has changed how I view God. My spiritual life has morphed into something deeper and more profound. The imagery in this book has helped bring clarity to areas of my faith that were confusing and gray. Amazing book! I have recommended it to all my friends.
The Shack May 11, 2008 This book is an absolute "must read". What insight the writer has in establishing a relationship with God. I hope everyone reads this book as it helps get so much closer to our "creator"! Awesome! I bought 2 books on Amazon and have been spreading them around to others. Finally got one back and am going to read it again. Hats off the the author, William P. Young.
