4 out of 5 stars urban guide to essentials   April 21, 2008

I love how this book simplifies, yet shows the most essentials about all parts of our wordrobe: shirts, pants, blazers, sweaters, accessories, etc. Photos compliment their very short suggestions. I like that there are many photos, not too much text. It's a great book for any guy who wants to look half-decent in the city.

What was lacking was that it had very little informaiton on best practises on cleaning, taking care of, washing, etc. I wish it would include more photos of more samples : what goes well with that.

Other than that, this is a great purchase.

This guide must be for people who live in a cave. Not much to learn about mens fashion.

4 out of 5 stars pretty good   April 14, 2008

I'm not a big Details Magazine fan, mainly because I've always been preoccupied with GQ and the occasional Esquire. When I bought this product I didn't really know what to expect, and pretty much wondered if it would suit my style. Rather than push into a certain style, the book stays on a more broad spectrum, telling you what to consider and what to definitely avoid. This book was very informative and had lots of pictures and ideas. Ranging anywhere from how to pick out your clothes to how to maintain and take care of them, this book opened many new doors for me. This is a must if you're trying to turn yourself into a new man, and are tired of looking like a schlub. I like it and I'm sure you will too.

4 out of 5 stars a men's basic   April 9, 2008

Un producto que introduce a las buenas formas del vestir; dando lo basico para crear con tu guardaropa una infinidad de combinaciones para cada personalidad. crea conciencia en el ritual del vestir y dejas de verlo como una actividad diaria mas.

4 out of 5 stars Good style advice for a fashion newbie   April 5, 2008

I recently made a resolution to stop dressing like I'm in college and to start dressing my age, so I picked this book up on recommendation of a friend. The best thing about this book are the excellent photos showing different outfits. I passed up buying some of the "classic" style guides that didn't have good photos. Not all of their recommendations are "me", but it has been very helpful in establishing a good baseline for beginning to build a wardrobe.
