Product Description Take a visual journey through the best of Michigan! The extraordinary photographs showcased in Michigan 24/7 are an extension of the America 24/7 project, an unprecedented digital photography venture that harnessed the talents of more than 25,000 local photographers in all 50 states. This remarkable book showcases 852 images adding up to a panoramic view of life across the Wolverine State. You ll discover heartwarming photographs that perfectly capture the spirit of the state, with images of: Farmers and windsurfers Inveterate pool sharks and high-rattled churchwomen Vietnamese wig-shop owners and Traverse City retirees A third-generation union man working the line at the GMC plant A longshoreman walking a tanker through the locks at Sault Ste. Marie A polka queen hefting her accordion in Frankenmuth And much more! From Isle Royale to the Ambassador Bridge, woodsy, watery Michigan is a place of connections, a continental crossroads. The images collected in this album capture the state s brawny dynamism and the intimacy, where the heart is.

Not What I Thought April 23, 2005 11 out of 13 found this review helpful
I bought this book because I thought it would be pictures of the outdoors. Pictures of Lighthouses, waterfalls, the Soo Locks, the bridges up north, and of course the great lakes. There are maybe 10 pictures of these things and the rest are of people hanging out doing diffrent things. So if your looking for a book with great things Michigan has to offer this one is not it.
