Product Description
A revolutionary approach to success and fulfillment-already being used by hundreds of thousands of individuals and organizations-now available for the first time in an accessible, practical book. T he Personality Code clearly and persuasively demonstrates how personality determines why we do what we do and how we can maximize our strengths, work smarter with others, and profit from better relationships in our careers. Based on the IDISC(tm) Personality Profile-an updated and rigorously validated proprietary version of DISC, the world's most popular form of personality testing-the book provides insights and strategies for individuals and organizations that promote self-awareness and foster excellence. Readers will have free access to the online IDISC(tm) Personality Profile (each book will include a unique code number), which will reveal their own profiles from among the fourteen personality types that have been refined and defined through the author's six-year international study involving more than five hundred thousand participants. Travis Bradberry shows readers how to discern the fixed characteristics that explain three-quarters of human behavior. Most important, they will learn how to leverage these traits in order to capitalize on their strengths and sidestep weaknesses in themselves as well as in other people.

5 out of 5 stars Charting your course   April 24, 2008

The Personality Code shows you how to understand yourself in ways you may have never though possible. I was surprised to learn that personality controls so much of our behavior and how we interact with people. But, more importantly, it changes less than 1% in adulthood. The stories and research in this book are really fascinating, including a study where they followed people for 60 years and saw how little the core of who they are changed in their lifespan. The IDISC personality test that comes with the book is also quite revealing. I learned a lot about myself and had family and friends take it as well to learn their personality types. Highly recommended.

5 out of 5 stars Find yourself   February 28, 2008

I'm amazed by what The Personality Code taught me about myself. The author's style of writing is a bit of a page-turner, with great stories entertwined with factual information. I enjoyed how quickly and accurately the book was able to summarize my personality, and show me where to go (what to do and what not to do) based on my personality type.

The online test that you can only take when you buy the book is also great. I recommend The Personality Code!

5 out of 5 stars What makes YOU tick? This one is better than StrengthsFinder!   February 22, 2008

We're having a blast with this book at my work! It tells you which of the 14 personality types you are, what your strengths are based upon your type, and what you can do to overcome your weaknesses. I was surprised at how spot-on the description of my type (Motivator) was. Most of my coworkers had the same reaction.

With some of my, eh hem, tougher to understand colleagues, I now have a way to understand where they are coming from and why they do some of the bizarre things that they do. The book gives us a common language that we now use to understand and describe each other. We also took the strengthsfinder test and I didn't get the same depth of information from that test, so I don't understand the review here that says that book is better. Plus that strengthsfinder book is too short and The Personality Code provides a wealth of information. Highly recommended!

5 out of 5 stars Helped me plan my career   September 10, 2007

I had been thinking a lot about making a career change when I came across this book. It was really helpful to learn about my personality type and see how this connects to the tasks that I tend to be great at, versus those that drag me down. I found the book's description of me to be really accurate, as was the online test. There were a few surprises in there I wasn't aware of as well!

In the end I'm ready to make my move and this book helped a lot to build my confidence knowing I'm heading in the right direction. I'd recommend it to anyone who's going through a similar process.

5 out of 5 stars Fun read   June 11, 2007

I expected this book to be educational (and it was), but I was surprised by what a breezy read it turned out to be. Dr. Bradberry provides many interesting stories of how personality plays out in the real world to illustrate the concepts. These stories helped me to see the connection to people I know, as well as myself. Great book.
