Product Description
To figure out William Steig’s word puzzles you need merely read the letters, numbers, and symbols aloud. If at first the messages aren’t clear, there are clever pictures accompanying each one to give you hints. Some are easy, some are hard, but all are a hilarious treat when the phrases are decoded. Originally published in 1984 with black-and-white drawings, C D C ? is given fresh life in this full-color edition painted by Mr. Steig. Also included is an answer key at the end.

bad service January 7, 2008 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is a constant problem: bad service with total indifference to condition or handling of merchandise. This particular book was slashed with a box cutting utility knife. Why anyone would ship a defective product is beyond me. I am keeping the book to show everyone what you get when you order from the internet. I am disgusted!
Still in sync with the world! December 13, 2007 CDC is a wonderfully charming book to read with all people from a beginning reader to a school senior to a grandfather. I have had the most riotous time reading this book with my senior Physics class, and I can promise that it helped their lateral thinking no end. I will not say anymore about the construct or the language of the book so I do not give away the surprise of it. I will, however, broadly hint that the title reads "See the Sea?"
Gets you thinking and having fun for the whole family June 21, 2007 This book like the other one "CDB" is a jewel. A copy need to be sent to the president, G. Bush to increase his reading level, articulation, and thinking skills..lol :) It will take the place of board games and bridge the communication gap with your kids of all ages. The only down side is there isn't an answer page to confirm some of the more dificult rebus-pictures. Other than that, I highly recommend it to everyone. I jst lv et. :)
The DP Line February 17, 2005 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
When there was great influx of immigration to the USA due to war or crop failures in other countries, these folks became known as "Displaced Persons" or "DPs" (which, I realize, is NOT the politically correct phrase currrently, but it WAS in common usage at the turn of the 20th century) - check out the different costuming in the drawing shown for this caption - they are all people from different nations in their national garb.
Very enjoyable! April 19, 2004 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
My four children have enjoyed this book , as well as CDB. I brought both books in to my son's 4th grade "Reading Day" and the whole class participated in the "puzzle-solving" text. They had so much fun with both books!! I highly recommend these books for a fun and interactive read!
