Book Description This book presents readers with a study of the best engineering designs and exposes them to bioengineering practice from a variety of perspectives. Its aim is to explain basic engineering ideas and modes of analysis, synthesis, and design. Examining the living system from the molecular to the the human scale, this book covers such key issues as optimization, scaling, and design; and introduces these concepts in a sequential, layered manner. Analysis strategies, science, and technology are illustrated in each chapter. An excellent reference work for biomedical engineers.

Make sure its required! May 2, 2008 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I got this book for class and didn't even use it once! So really, I have nothing to say about the book itself. Just make sure you need it before buying it because it is very expensive for its size.
A good Intro to BME Book June 4, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I used this book in an Intro to BME course. The book was helpful, and approached Biomedical Engineer with many problem solving techniques. I found the book to provide a good depth of information for a college freshmen. I would recommend this book to any BME student.
