"You can wrap a pig in silk, but he'll still stink and oink." May 27, 2008
How can this not be an excellent tale in the Longarm series, when we get two totally different stories in one episide. Not only are there two tales;but each has all the elements of a good Old West Western. In the first story ,we find Longarm no longer living in his rooming house but in his own appartment. It will be interesting to see if he is still there in the next episodes;and when did he move? This first story also seems to be much later than previous stories;maybe into the 1890's and our hero seems to be showing his age. And how about his actually considering getting hitched and settling down. This whole story takes place in Denver and is a good one. Finally, things get resolved in Denver, and on page 1i9,Longarm heads out to Prescott,Arizona. This seems to take our hero an unusually long time of 6 days, by train and stagecoach ;and uncharacteristically, nothing happens along the way.In Prescott we start a whole different story with lots of fast- action and interesting situations and characters. This episode is quite different from the others, but nonetheless very good. I get the feeling there is a new and different writer involved.
