Customer Reviews:

4 out of 5 stars impressive debut   June 24, 2003
This is an impressive debut. The opening poem about harriet tubmun is one of the best that i have ever read. All of the poems are written in a very conversational tone, yet not too elementary, which is a refreshing change from most contemporary poetry which is esoteric. If you like anything by E. Ethelbert Miller then you will love this book.
