Product Description
The runaway bride wore white.... With half her immediate family having been committed -- mentally speaking -- why can't Chloe Sachs commit? After all, she's always been considered the sane one. But standing at the altar, moments away from becoming Mrs. Mark Hutchinson, Chloe hears a voice telling her in no uncertain terms, Run! So she hikes up her wedding whites, leaves behind her handsome fiance and a few hundred guests, and tears down California's Interstate 505 in her red Ford Frontier. Now Chloe has no Plan B, two kooky dogs, one angry ex, and a truckload of wedding gifts to return. Taking refuge at her grandmother's empty rental bungalow, Chloe unearths some surprising family secrets while renovating it -- and meets some very intriguing new people, like the hot veterinarian she can't get off her mind. And with her family and friends' help, Chloe realizes she doesn't have to run anymore -- because she's already home.
Download Description "With half her immediate family having been committed -- mentally speaking -- why can't Chloe Sachs commit? After all, she's always been considered the sane one in the family. But seconds before becoming Mrs. Mark Hutchinson, Chloe leaves her handsome, successful fiance at the altar and tears down Interstate 505 in her red Ford Frontier. Maybe it was the heat of a California June wedding. Maybe it was when a family tradition went awry before hundreds of shocked guests. Or maybe it was because she heard a voice telling her in no uncertain terms, Run! Now Chloe has no Plan B, two kooky dogs, one angry ex, and a truckload of wedding gifts to return. Taking refuge at her grandmother's, Chloe helps her renovate a bungalow that's been in the family for years -- and unearths some surprising secrets. She also discovers that leaving her heart open may invite some very intriguing guests -- like the beguiling veterinarian she can't get off her mind. And with her family and friends' help, Chloe realizes she's truly free...to follow her heart wherever it takes her.

meh... May 24, 2008 It's an alright book, but it's something you pick up because you have nothing else to read, it won't be staying on my shelf. The plot is okay but the charcters are a bit flat.
Quirky and funny romance November 29, 2007 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
When her groom Mark fails to break the glass during their wedding ceremony, Chloe Sachs thinks it's an omen and high tails it out of the church, leaving her groom, family and guests in the lurch. She finds solace in the one person she's always been able to count on - her gran. Mark insists that she take both dogs with her, then proceeds to go on their honeymoon with her cousin. Chloe remains at her gran's guest house where her Great Aunt Laura lived prior to dying from an errant Jolly Rancher candy. On a forced two month sabbatical from work, she works on renovations to the guest house, and comes across some old love letters circa the 1940's which have her soul searching and finally finding answers as to why her family has been so dysfunctional. She meets a hunky veterinarian and romance just might bloom when she least expects it. If she can just keep exposure to her strange family to a minimum...
Rendahl has a knack for creating quirky characters, hilarious situations, and tugging on reader's heartstrings. Chloe's voyage of self-discovery is a fun story that at times is a little overpopulated, but she does a great job in delineating each character, giving them their own distinctive personality. To actually see my small home town mentioned in the novel was also a welcome surprise(since just about all books seem to take place in LA or New York). Rendahl is two for two with me (loved her "Roots" book), so she is now an automatic buy!
Hilarious and Heart Warming August 25, 2006 This is chick lit story about a runaway bride. Chloe gets a bad feeling at her wedding and runs away. She moves into her grandmothers house while she's supposed to be on her honeymoon to sort things out.
It's a story about real issues, self discovery, self distructive behavior, and family dynamics.
Chloe makes a hard journey of self discovery and begins to understand the mistakes she was making in her life. She's strong enough to correct mistakes that can be passed down from generation to generation.
I'm looking forward to reading more of Rendahl's novels.
Not Lit For Your Average Chick August 16, 2006 Eileen's writing style appeals to a vast variety of ages (unlike many other books of similar genre on the market now days). Her words are easy to devour into the night, like your favorite ice cream, and just as delicious. The male characters are always a treat as well. Her writing style is very fluid and paints a nice image as you read. Her plot is refreshing and her characters are the kind of people you either know, or would love to know.
Another great one from Eileen. Can't wait for the next!
Unbridaled August 14, 2006 A great story about finding one's self. Everyone has skeletons in the closets and finding out about your family's help to reveal more about yourself.
