Product Description Within the brotherhood, Rhage is the vampire with the strongest appetite. He's the best fighter, the quickest to act on his impulses, and the most voracious lover-for inside him burns a ferocious curse cast by the Scribe Virgin.
Possessed by this dark side, Rhage fears the times when his inner dragon is unleashed, making him a danger to everyone around him. When Mary Luce is unwittingly thrown into the vampire world, she must rely on Rhage's protection. Knowing that Mary feels the same intense animal attraction, Rhage must make her his alone...

Rhage Rocks! July 23, 2008 Out of the Brotherhood's books so far...this one was the ultimate BEST! Rhage has been my favorite hero of all the books I have ever read and his and Mary's story it totally unforgetable. They are a perfect match together. You feel for her...you feel for him...they are wonderful together. You gotta love a hero that's not afraid to cry...This book is the best of the entire series and it was the one that kept me going with emotion until the end...
Another winner from the Black Dagger Brotherhood! July 17, 2008 Well Lover Eternal did not disappoint me! Another lead character to fall in love with. LOVED RHAGE!! His inner demon was a nice twist on the story and actually liked the female lead Mary. Can't wait to read the next one!
Likeable heroine but.... July 15, 2008 I disliked this book immensely even though I was drawn to the character of Mary Luce. I was interested in reading a story involving a character with a terminal illness; I thought I would become used to the character of Rhage but I did not. From reading the other reviews, I was led to believe that he was an ultimate kick butt character but to me, he and his brotherhood were all members of a steriod using, gangsta wannabe frat house. I didn't find those types of guys sexy when I was in college and I certainly don't find them sexy material for a romance. Mary, on the other hand, was a complex character; there was a kind, vulnerability to her which makes me feel cheated on her behalf. She deserved a better love interest, in my candid opinion.
Dear reader, if you are looking for a romance novel with a dark, fierce male character and sympathetic heroine, then this is not the book for you. But, if you like pumped up men in black leather, driving Cadillac Escalades, that listen to Ludacris and Fifty Cents while dropping urban vernacular, then this is the book for you!
Worst Book in Series! July 10, 2008 I have read all the Blackdagger books, and by far this is the worst book of the series. So much so, it would have been better if it was left out or completely re-written. I couldnt wait to read this book after the phenomenal introduction to the series in Dark Lover. However, I was completely disappointed and still (after reading all the other books) feel that I shouldnt have wasted my time on this one. Absolutely horrible! Our main character of the book, Rhage, not only is a force to be reckoned with on so many levels; but also, a lonely, and deep man who just wants to love and be loved in return. His character is developed beautifully - so much so, that we know him, cheer for him, and wish that we were with him. He is strong, smart, funny, loving, and all around a good guy. Yes, he has a curse of a beast for an alternate ego - much like Bruce Banner and The Hulk. But even with this beast, we come to love him. Then we have Mary. What a waste of time, breath, reading, and everything else valuable in this world was Mary. She had no admirable attributes. Was boring, whiney, self-absorbed, and really not the character we felt would be a perfect match for Rhage. Yes, a female vampire would probably have been a better fit - but even Vhishous's Jane, being human was a character we loved and fit perfectly with him. Not so with Mary & Rhage. She should have some character strength, a reason to be deserving of the company and love of Rhage. All we learn is that she is a great whiner and nothing more. Extremely disappointing and not at all what I had hoped it would be. With so much potential for greatness, it took a giant leap and fell right on its face. Dont waste your time!! Skip this book and read the next books in the series. They are fabulous and wont leave the horrible taste in your mouth as this book did. Ah, the series could have been so great!
Full on emotion! July 8, 2008 I love this series, so it goes without saying that I enjoyed this book very much. There were parts of the book that really wrung me out emotionally. JR Ward pulled out all the stops in this book and I gotta say that I'm loving it! There was one part of the story that I was a little disappointed in, the romantic in me cried a lot over the action of the Hero (I'll leave it at this as i don't want to ruin it for those who've yet to read this book). But other than that this book was fantastic! Cannot wait to dive into Zsadist's story- major cliffhanger at the end of this book.
