Product Description One ranch. Three sons. Only one will inherit...and on one condition.Tired of waiting for his sons to settle down, Arizona-territory rancher Angus McKettrick announces a competition: the first son to marry and produce a grandchild will inherit Triple M ranch. Now, three distinctly different, equally determined cowboys are searching high and low for brides. If Emmeline Harding knows one thing, it's that she can't hold her liquor. And though she's not sure how she came to wake up next to a stack of gold coins in a brothel, she fears the worst. Fleeing town as a mail-order bride, she wonders: how will she ever confess her past to her handsome new husband? Freedom-loving Rafe McKettrick is a man of strong beliefs and stronger passions and he'll do anything to win the Triple M -- even marry a stranger. To his surprise, Emmeline's charms beguile him even as the secrets he senses she's hiding ignite jealousy and suspicion. But when a visitor from the past enters the high country, the newlyweds have no choice but to give up on a marriage in name only and seek a union that satisfies them body and soul.

Predictable May 29, 2008 A fun read, your basic characters, one-dimensional. Situations as you encounter in most romances. Predictable, but humorous and entertaining. The first half was better than the second. I enjoyed the McKettrick books, but believe I prefer Maggie Osborne's western romances for the more complicated stories.
Great book December 4, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a great book to open up the McKettrick Cowboy trilogy. I have ordered the rest of the books that Ms. Miller has penned for the McKettrick family. Can't wait to read them also. I am going to strongly recommend Ms. Miller to others, and pass the books that I have from her to others, and then reread them again.
First time Linda Lael Miller reader November 5, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is the first book I have ever read by this author and liked the fact that there were a series of connect books and that I was able to read the story of each McKettrick brother.
Could not put it down October 16, 2007 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I loved this book, I could not put it down. The McKettrick brothers are great. This is a true western romance from the 1880's with family, hardship and true love. I could not wait to read the Shot Gun Bride and Secondhand Bride. Linda Lael Miller is at the top of my favorite authors list. Can't wait to read more from the McKettrick series.
Okay read June 14, 2007 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Some fun characters and situations and if you like historical romance, without a lot of shock or suprises, then this would be a good bet for you. Rather predictable, but humorous and comfortable.
