A Classic! July 7, 2008 The original publication was a big hit with our kids. The re-publication was a pleasant surprise - in time for the next generation. Great if you like Siverstein's goofy humor.
books June 9, 2008 I ordered four books, Don't Bump the Glump, by Shel Silverstein. They arrived in about three days from ordering and the price was wonderful.
Shel Silverstein is a star May 15, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is his first work. The pictures and rhymes are good, but not as fantastic as his other work. Only get this if you are interested in collecting all his work, otherwise some of his other titles are better.
A Book of Monsters May 14, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
My daughter's favorite poet is Shel Silverstein. Since she now has a two-year-old son, I thought this would be the perfect book for them to share. I was wrong. Although my daughter is happy to have it, my grandson doesn't like monsters at all. My guess is that he will be able to appreciate it when he is several years older.
When did this come back into print? May 4, 2008 Oh happy day! I remember this book at my favorite aunt and uncle's house. It was the first thing I headed for when we came to visit each year. It disappeared after my uncle's death (I think his own children also had fond memories of it) and I despaired of ever seeing it again. I just discovered today that it is back in print and I immediately bought 2 copies - one for my significant other (who loves silly as much as I do) and one for my year old grand-nephew. But these are only the first of many copies of this I know I will get - this is THE Christmas present for absolutely everyone on my list. Hooray!
