Product Description
Legions of readers entranced by Twilight are hungry for more and they won't be disappointed. In New Moon, Stephenie Meyer delivers another irresistible combination of romance and suspense with a supernatural twist. The "star-crossed" lovers theme continues as Bella and Edward find themselves facing new obstacles, including a devastating separation, the mysterious appearance of dangerous wolves roaming the forest in Forks, a terrifying threat of revenge from a female vampire and a deliciously sinister encounter with Italy's reigning royal family of vampires, the Volturi. Passionate, riveting, and full of surprising twists and turns, this vampire love saga is well on its way to literary immortality.

5 out of 5 stars Couldn't put this book down.....   July 23, 2008
I just love the characters in this series. Ms. Meyer has developed them in such a way that I can't wait to see what they are going to do next. I didn't get bored with this book at all (like I did in the first half of "Twilight"). It moved quickly, and was a smooth, easy, and really fun read. Not complicated(actually a little superficial), but hey, that made it all the more enjoyable. I have read my share of complicated and depressing. I was ready for easy, uncomplicated, and totally fiction. I highly recommend this book, but only after you have read "Twilight" (the first in the series). So much would be lost if you didn't have the background with all of the characters.

5 out of 5 stars Love this series Stephenie Meyer!!!!   July 22, 2008
Fabulous, Wonderful, Amazing and Fantastic. I love love love this series. No time for a long review... Off to start Eclipse.

4 out of 5 stars Good Book!   July 22, 2008
I personally love the second one, it was so good and so worth reading even though it made me cry in the beginning. But the way this book ended in the end was really really good.

5 out of 5 stars Just As Good As Twilight!   July 21, 2008
I have to disagree with those who say New Moon isn't as good as the first novel in the series, Twilight. I just finished New Moon, and I think it's just as good, only different. (And I read them back-to-back.) In fact, while the love story aspect may not be present throughout the book, I feel like the suspense made New Moon even more page-turning than Twilight. I couldn't put it down because there was absolutely no point in the book where I wasn't dying to find out what happened next!

I don't agree with those who are unhappy that Edward is missing from a good chunk of this book. I understand why he goes, and I think he needed to, for the story. I'm also glad to see how Bella fares without him for awhile. Some have said that Bella just whines over Edward in this book, and that it's unrealistic and annoying. I feel quite the opposite. I think Bella's reaction to Edward leaving was very realistic, actually, for someone who has had their heart broken completely. I could believe it. And when Jacob enters the picture, as a friend to cheer her up, I thought that was also very plausible. I think Meyer did a great job of putting Bella through the exact emotions that someone in her situation in "real life" would go through. Same with how she feels about Jacob. I completely understand how Bella treats the situation. (It doesn't make you not sympathize with Jacob, all the same, but this is also a good representation of how "real life" goes. Not everyone can "get the girl.")

The suspense is amazing. I love how in New Moon Meyer gives even more explanation to how this world works. The backstory and development on legends and origins is compelling. What I think I enjoy about this series so much is that Meyer answers most of the questions she raises, and when she does, it doesn't seem unrealistic. It makes sense. She also continues to being up new questions, as well, to keep you intrigued. I admit, some of the end is a little off the wall, somewhat "unrealistic," even in the context, but I found I didn't care, I was so wrapped up in the story.

Highly recommend this! And when you read it, try not to skip ahead to the end - enjoy each page, Edward or no Edward! It's all good.
