Product Description
Readers captivated by Twilight and New Moon will eagerly devour Eclipse, the much anticipated third book in Stephenie Meyer's riveting vampire love saga. As Seattle is ravaged by a string of mysterious killings and a malicious vampire continues her quest for revenge, Bella once again finds herself surrounded by danger. In the midst of it all, she is forced to choose between her love for Edward and her friendship with Jacob --- knowing that her decision has the potential to ignite the ageless struggle between vampire and werewolf. With her graduation quickly approaching, Bella has one more decision to make: life or death. But which is which?

4 out of 5 stars Oh my god, what has she done?   May 10, 2008

Oh, the millions of things I can say about this book and more...

WARNING: Spoilers.

She killed the charcters. Not literally, but after reading this, that's a bit how I felt about most of the protaganists. (Or is it antagonists?)

I believe someone has already mentioned it in their review, but I would just like to add to that: Bella Swan is ANNOYING!!! Her sheer lack of shining qualties and virtues makes me want to stab her throat out with a steak knife! She's selfish, dependant, whiny, rude, misunderstanding, average, uncoordinated, greedy, and all together a bad character. I feel so sorry for Edward and Jacob who could've and should've given their hearts to someone much more worthy of them. These thoughts have been with me since the first book, but I hadn't felt them so strongly until I found myself flipping through the pages of Eclipse.

While I'm on the subject of characters, I would also like to say a little something about Edward and Jacob. Edward, Bella's vampirian lover, completely sets the relationship off blance by being too perfect. He has very little of his own personality, except for the occasional heated temper. The rest of the Cullens all have some small downfall that makes us love them even more. Alice: Her abilites can often back fire. Carlisle: Not very assertive. Esme: Much like Carlisle. Emmett: Too big and loud. :D Jasper: A little too isolated. Rosalie: Vain. But Edward just can't seem to have a fault according to Stephenie. And finally, my favorite main character, Jacob, the werewolf. Of all of Meyer's creations, Jacob Black is clearly the best. HIs charismatic attitiude and overall huggable factor mack for an awesome personality, ecspecially when you add no boundaries and a love for all things cars. If I could incorporate a character from the Twilight series into my own stories, it would definetely be Jacob.

The plot was just a little disappointing. They didn't travel, it was mostly flashbacks, and Edward did most of the work. The most tenseful part that the entire series was leading up to happened over the course of about 5 pages, and was a real let down. Meyer just can't seem to bring herself to tread on the Cullens general perfection in all that they do.

But what I hate the most is how much I love the series. Stephenie Meyer's style and description are so vivid that they almost make up for Bella's glaring badness. Almost.

All in all, not for someone looking for strong willed characters or large action scenes, unless you're like me, and can suck it up. The moral of this review? Read at your own risk.

5 out of 5 stars A must read   May 9, 2008
The third book in the Twilight saga... you have to read this if you've read the first 2! I read all three books in 6 days, working 10 hour days! I couldn't put them down!
I love this book! I highly recommend it to any book lover! It will have you hooked!
