Product Description
Beloved author Lori Wick presents a new standalone in the tradition of her bestselling Sophie?s Heart. After losing her parents, Arcineh Bryant lives with her grandfather as a girl. But growing up without her family causes her to hold resentment toward the man who took her in. Years later, when she meets a man she thinks she may love, she doubts whether she can trust her own heart. A character?rich journey leads Arcineh back to her grandfather?s home where there are surprises, questions, and for the first time in her life, an answer to ?who will love me forever?? This compelling story about a woman?s hunger for acceptance and wholeness points the reader home to God?s love.

Wish I would have read reviews FIRST ugh June 28, 2008 Sorry to say this book was bland. Very disappointing. I got it from my church library. Next time I'll read reviews before choosing a book. I just don't have the time to waste on a so-so read.
This will sound trivial but the main charter's name drove me nuts. It took 2 chapter before I didn't stumble on the name Arcineh. Some of the other character's name were worse.
The idea for the story was interesting but it never went anywhere. Over 3/4 drones over the same stuff and no spiritual value at all. I kept looking at the back of the book to be sure I borrowed a Christian novel.
I won't give away the ending but thats were God comes in like something tacked on as an after thought and in a boring, tract like way. Sorry Lori, I hear your other books are better, I'll be sure to read the reviews before investing my time into another read.
Disappointing June 18, 2008 My goodness. One takes a risk by grabbing a book with no research off the library shelves! For those who take more time than I at times to research their choices, I wouldn't recommend this one. The plot is at times either completely predictable or completely unbelievable. The characters are flat and predictable. The author clearly remembered two-thirds of the way through that characters are supposed to change and grow, so literally on one page, she changes them all. Bam! They find God. And not just God, but good old new-earth creationist God. I can't imagine He'd be happy with the use of this novel, or the poor Shedd aquarium, as a platform. I would take a pass on this one.
Okay, but not her best April 21, 2008 I started this book some time ago but had a hard time getting into it and set it aside. The other day I picked it up again and was reminded why I stopped reading it before. However, this time I was determined to finish it since I have loved so many of Lori Wick's other books. I thought the main character, though flawed, was too perfect in so many ways. I loved her Grandpa, Sam Bryant - great character. The storyline itself was slow and too much of her daily life and routine. This book was okay - just okay.
Excellent March 10, 2008 I really enjoyed this book and was surprised to find so many negative reviews. Maybe I just connected to Arcie in this story. This is the first book that I have read by this author so I guess they can only get better!
Not her best February 13, 2008 I am usually a fan of Lori Wick, but I found it incredibly difficult to warm up to the main character. She seemed selfish and lacked depth. The story line just missed the mark for me.
