Product Description From Atlanta’s wealthiest suburbs to its stark inner-city housing projects, a killer has crossed the boundaries of wealth and race. And the people who are chasing him must cross those boundaries, too. Among them is Michael Ormewood, a veteran detective whose marriage is hanging by a thread—and whose arrogance and explosive temper are threatening his career. And Angie Polaski, a beautiful vice cop who was once Michael’s lover before she became his enemy. But unbeknownst to both of them, another player has entered the game: a loser ex-con who has stumbled upon the killer’s trail in the most coincidental of ways—and who may be the key to breaking the case wide open.
In this gritty, gripping firecracker of a novel, the author of the bestselling Grant County, Georgia, series breaks thrilling new ground, weaving together the threads of a complex, multilayered story with the skill of a master craftsman. Packed with body-bending switchbacks, searing psychological suspense and human emotions, Triptych ratchets up the tension one revelation at a time as it races to a shattering and unforgettable climax.

Very Good! July 3, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
A prostitute is murdered on the steps of her apartment, in a run down area of Atlanta, and Detective Michal Ormewood is sent to the scene. The police soon discover that there have been a number of recent, similiar attacks, although not always fatal, involving younger victims. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation send one of their agents, Will Trent, who has been investigating these similiar crimes, to assist the Atlanta Police Department with their investigation.
I found this book an engrossing read. There is always something going on in it, that makes you want to read on. The characters in it have depth, and personality, which makes you care about them, when they are in perilious situations. There is a bit of jumping backwards and forwards at the beginning of the novel, but it all starts to make sense fairly quickly, as all is not as what the reader may have originally thought at the start of the book.
This is a standalone book, and not part of the Grant County series.
A sexy, dark ,entertaining thriller April 18, 2008 I thought this was as great read! The author is easy to read and is very descriptive without boring you out of your mind. I really love the characters dialog, the gritty feel of all of the action, and of course that this is chock full of adult content in precisely measured doses. I burned through this book on my commute. . .rather read this than sleep on the train so it must be good! I love how she reveals a twist by shifting the perspective too! Ending was a little weak, who cares, you'll be entertained!
It could be a blockbuster but... March 24, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This book could be an excellent one. A paramount story. You'll never have an inkling of who's the bad guy. The problem with this plot is to find it! You'll read and read and get nothing important of the main plot and that's disappointing while reading any book. Definitely KS has much better books than this one.
Brilliant February 22, 2008 I found this book to be truly brilliant - one of the very best books I have read in a long, long time.
The narrative change that is mentioned by the publisher, and the information that is recieved with it, I did not see coming at all, and therin lies the genius of this book. After the shift, I went back and re-read most of the first part, as that part of the book took on a whole new meaning.
The characters in the book are well evolved, likeable, and complex. The storyline is intricate, involving, and somewhat disturbing. This was a great read.
I have read most of Karin Slaughter's other books (Grant County), and find them to pale in comparison to this stand alone thriller.
Worth reading January 9, 2008 Definetly a different kind of detective novel. You'll have it figured out fairly soon, but still worth investing the time.
