Not Johansen quality July 25, 2008 This novel missed the mark of an Iris Johansen story. I gave it two stars because Johansen is one of my favorite authors and one star is reserved for "stinkers". The "strong woman" concept simply came off as rude (Megan), and then she doubled the rude (Renata). I have tried very hard to wade through this book and it's tough going. I have read most of Johansen's books, including the Wind Dancer series, so based on prior knowledge this book is a sad disappointment. I probably will not give "Quicksand", the next Eve Duncan-Megan book, a look.
Not her best July 23, 2008 Normally I adore Mrs Johansen's writings. This book however never seemed to 'get off the ground' It was a quick read, and kept me still for a while, but just not what I had hoped for. Sorry Ms J. But I am so fixed on the books with Eve Duncan, family-and of course 'Monty' nothing else is quite as entertaining.
Glad I didn't buy this one July 20, 2008 I recently checked Pandora's Daughter out from the library, expecting a typical airport- or beach-read thriller. I've read some Iris Johansen before, so I expected a heroine in peril, a tough guy to help her save herself, and a few hours of entertainment.
This was just bad. Badly plotted, badly scripted, wooden characters, implausible scenes. I can churn through just about anything, but just barely finished this.
Pandora's Daughter July 12, 2008 Pandora's Daughter is my favorite of Iris Johansen's novels. It was absolutely phenomenal. Megan Blair is a very interesting character. I can't wait to see more of her in Johansen's future books.
Poorly Written! July 8, 2008 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have always been a big fan of Iris Johansen's books. Unfortunately I have to agree with some of the reviews here. This book seems like it was either written by someone else or Iris was just not into it when she wrote it. I definitely DO NOT recommend this book. Try any of her previous ones, all are fab and just skip this one!
