From the supplier: The University of Michigan Center for Performing Arts and Technology uses a GE Talaria LV8000 MP (multiple personality) data/video projector for presentations in and around Ann Arbor, MI, to groups of from 100 to 200 people in both front- and rear-projection configurations. The device uses a series of interchangeable lenses to project picture sizes from six feet to 30 feet wide; it can be positioned up to 200 feet from the screen. The LV8000 MP can hold as many as 16 different computer and video formats in memory and can interface with almost any computer operating at between 15 and 36 kHz, including Apple Macintosh IIs and IBM PCs running VGA and EGA graphics. The projector is used in the center's music and dance courses, which include an increasing number of video dance, music technology and other courses combining technology and the arts. Even with the relatively high level of stage lighting required by dance presentations the device works very well, according to the center's video technology consultant, Mike Knight.
