From the supplier: Eighteen of the 29 community colleges in Michigan form a consortium aimed at meeting needs in the area of faculty instructional development and cost-effectively developing materials. The consortium approach should help solve the problem of improving the quality of instruction in colleges and universities. The consortium, called the Michigan Colleges' Consortium for Faculty Development, produces a series of faculty development modules that address course goals and topics, the first day process, planning lessons, planning instruction for higher levels of thought, cultural communication, and assessing classroom evaluation methods. They are used to stimulate group discussion among faculty. Each module emphasizes the principles of effective college instruction. The consortium has marketed the modules since 1988 and feedback from other schools is very positive.
