 Another winner July 27, 2008
This book entertained me. As far as plot goes, I wanted to slap the girl a few times. I hate watching people make what I feel are bad decisions. But look- I was getting mad at her! I was really into the book and the story. A good one.
Perfect for the summer! July 26, 2008
I was in the mood for a light, entertaining read for the summer and while this book fits the bill, it is also something more than that. I was surprised at how invested I was in the characters and the romantic triangle between Ellen, Leo and Andy. I agree with what the previous reviewer said, this book can be as deep or as simple as you make it. It is a very enjoyable story and can certainly make you think on the subject of true love and what makes a relationship work.

Can a woman really decide between two loves? How do you control the feelings in your heart? That's the subject of this book, and it is handled wonderfully throughout. Ellen deals with some very difficult emotions in this book and how she chooses to deal with them, or not deal with them, make up the bulk of the story. Through it all, we get to see the difference between knowing what is right, and living what is right.
This book can be either a really simple or really rich story, depending on how you read it. I really like that about it, like it can be appreciated on different levels. I would love to see this made into a movie someday!
On a personal note, I just want to say that not all Grahams are snobs!

I read all of Emily Griffin's other books and felt slightly disappointed with this one. I didn't laugh and cry like I did with the other books. I wouldn't say it was bad, but I would RAVE about it to my friends.

I was so looking forward to this book, but I was a little disappointed. It was more sad than anything, even at the end.
A woman named Ellen who is happily married to her best friend's brother, Andy. Her life seems blissfully happy until she runs into the ex that broke her heart. After learning how he ended things and hurt her, it's hard to understand why she would want to revisit that and risk ruining her relationship. But of course she does, and then begins to questions her life and all the decisions she has made. It's almost a little maddening to read, you want to reach in and shake her. But I'm sure most people can relate to making the wrong decision at times, but I just didn't like the conclusion of this book. I don't know, the whole thing seemed unsettling, and I was looking for a fun relaxing read.
