A buffet of humorous dog vignettes July 1, 2008 If you're a devoted dog lover--or even tolerant of the antics of dogs--you'll probably enjoy this book of amusing "letters" written by a dog to his relatives and friends. (Well, it was actually ghost written by his master.) Since most of the stories are 2 to 4 pages long, this makes a great bedside or bathroom book. The stories are in no particular order, so you can easily jump around or move on, depending on whether the story fits your mood or sense of humor.
The book is suitable for all ages. Pre-teens and teenages will probably snicker at the numerous stories with bathroom humor. I read several of the stories to my 91-year-old aunt who is mentally sharpe but bed-ridden in a nursing home. It was the first time I'd seen her laugh like that in years.
This is a great book to share or just keep lying around. It's well worth the modest price.
Bassets June 9, 2008 Basset Hounds are very funny dogs in many ways. DEER AINT PEGGY is a very different book about the life and times of one basset. A must for anyone who owns or has owned a Basset Hound(s).
Looking at the world through a dog's eyes! June 9, 2008 I found "Deer Aunt Peggy" to be a delightful book! It is easy to read (it's hard to put it down once you start reading it). I found it to be entertaining and very funny! I especially enjoyed the story about "Bob gets the short straw." If you've ever had your dog look at you and you wondered what he was thinking, this is the book for you! I highly recommend it to everyone! Ideal summer reading! Mattalene P. Wicker, Sanford, NC
SHERLOCK FOR PRESIDENT June 3, 2008 I LOVED THE BOOK. THIS IS ONE WISE BASSETT. I WISH SOME PEOPLE HAD AS MUCH SENSE AS SWEET SHERLOCK. I'M AN ANIMAL LOVER SO HEARING ABOUT LIFE FROM HIS POINT OF VIEW WAS VERY HUMOUROUS. I CRACKED UP OVER THE TIME MANAGEMENT STORY AND WASHING THE CLOTHES. I CAN SEE MY SPOUSE DOING JUST THAT. ENJOYED THE BOOK VERY MUCH
U R Great, Sherlock! May 26, 2008 Reading this book was a lot of fun. I looked forward to each and every letter written by Sherlock. Seeing daily life through the senses of an obviously adorable dog was uplifting, funny, and throughly enjoyable! I recommend it to everyone.
